Cafeteria food isn’t that great anyway

Skip-A-Meal logoTell ’em you’ll pass on the mashed potatoes with turkey and gravy. Just keep walking past the pizza and the burgers, too. Now you smell fries? Well, maybe you need to run.

It doesn’t have to be this hard to pass up one meal in a week. After all, you’ve survived foodless finals weeks, so skipping the chili-cheese fries won’t kill you.

Circle K’ers are urged to take part in the Kiwanis International Foundation’s Skip-a-Meal week by just saying “no” to one meal one day during one of the three suggested weeks. The next chance to participate comes during the last week of April.

Here’s how it works: skip one meal and donate the cost of that meal to the Kiwanis International Foundation. The money helps fund several programs that make a difference in the lives of children around the world.

And don’t forget to let the Foundation know you’re committed to this event. Call 317-875-8755 (worldwide). Clubs that take part will receive a Skip-a-Meal banner patch.

Do not skip meals if you have medical restrictions such as diabetes, are taking insulin therapy, or are consuming any glucose-lowering medication. Those under a physician’s care should consult a doctor before participating in the activity. For medical situations, Circle K’ers can make a donation on behalf of the Skip-a-Meal fundraiser.
