WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23, 2021 

Noon – Registration opens at Salt Lake Plaza Hotel 

  

THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 2021 

*Morning — 2021 CKI Education Conference Kickoff (Attend virtually or in person.)
Kick off your ELC in SLC experience at this opening session featuring Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. Captain Sully landed a plane in the middle of a New York City river after both engines lost power following a bird strike. Everyone survived with only a few minor injuries. Sullenberger is an expert in innovation in the face of disaster. His lessons on preparedness — particularly in the times of change and challenge — will empower you to reach new levels of excellence. 

    • This session will include remarks from CKI and Kiwanis leadership, presentations from our partners and handing out of some CKI awards.  

*Late morning — CKI Workshops (Attend in person. Selected seminars to be broadcast virtually.)
Members can attend workshops on various topics including growing your club, developing leaders and learning how to make a sustainable impact in your community.  

*Early afternoon – Caucus of the Whole and Meet the Candidate (Attend virtually or in person.) 

All candidates for international office will take questions from the CKI members in two afternoon sessionsAt the Caucus of the Whole, candidates will give brief remarks and answer pre-selected questions. In the Meet the Candidate session, members will be able to ask candidates questions in virtual breakout rooms.  

*Late afternoon — Caring for Kids Keynote Address (Attend virtually or in person.)
Play is critical to helping kids develop healthy brains, says Rachel Giannini. Rachel was so good at teaching preschool, she was asked to star in a documentary about the importance of early childhood education. “No Small Matter” examines why millions of children aren’t getting the care they need to succeed. This eye-opening presentation will remind CKI members why childhood development is one of our four service initiatives. 

*Evening — ELC in SLC Opening Party (Attend in person.)
Have dinner, listen to music and spend the evening with your friends. The cost for food and drinks is included with the in-person registration option.

FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 2021 

*Morning — Friday Kickoff (Attend virtually or in person)
Become an agent for good by kicking off Friday with Kevin Carroll. Kevin dedicates his life to advancing education, sports and play for social change and success. He has helped turn creative ideas into reality for organizations such as Nike, Starbucks, Adidas, Disney, Target and many others. Endorse his seven simple rules and you’ll find your club making a bigger impact in your community.

*Late morning to early afternoon — 2021 CKI International Council meeting (Attend in person. Selected seminars to be broadcast virtually.)
Members of CKI’s International Council will gather to debate and vote on amendments as well as elect the 2021-22 board of trustees. At the beginning of the session, more CKI awards will also be announced.

*Late afternoon — Power of Play Keynote Address (Attend virtually or in person)
Ethan Zohn believes that a better and healthier world can be achieved through education, advocacy and inspiration. Ethan may be famous from CBS’s “Survivor: Africa,” but it’s what he did with the prize winnings that will have you singing his praises. As a former professional soccer player, he knows the unparalleled power of sport as an agent for social change. His nonprofit empowers young people in sub-Saharan Africa to make educated choices about pressing health challenges.   

*Early evening – Continuation of 2021 CKI International Council meeting if necessary (Attend in person. Selected seminars to be broadcast virtually.)
Debate and voting on CKI’s leadership and governing documents will continue if necessary.

SATURDAY, JUNE 26, 2021 

*Morning and early afternoon —CKI workshops (Attend in person. Selected seminars to be broadcast virtually.)
Attendees can participate in workshops on topics such as diversity, equity and inclusion as well as fundraising, marketing and other topics to help our club and community grow. 

*Late afternoon — Circle K International Closing Session and Awards (Attend virtually or in person.)
Celebrate another great year in CKI!  Major awards will be presented, along with remarks from the departing board and the installation of the 2021-22 CKI Board of Trustees. 

*Evening — CKI Social (Attend in person.)
Join fellow CKI members and guests for a relaxed night of food, fellowship and entertainment at this ticketed event that is included with in-person registration.
