Second Annual CKI Blood Drive! |
This year, Circle K International will be hosting its second annual blood drive prior to our International Convention in Denver, Colorado. The blood drive will be held on August 6, 2008 from 1:00 pm until 6:30 pm, mountain time. Spaces are limited. Reserve your donation appointment today at Bonfils Blood Center.
How do I know if I am eligible to donate?
To give blood for transfusion to another person, you must be healthy, be at least 18 years old (or 17 years old with parental consent) weigh at least 110 pounds, and not have donated blood in the last eight weeks (56 days). "Healthy" means that you feel well and can perform normal activities and have no previous history of hepatitis or HIV/AIDS.
Prior to scheduling an appointment to give blood, you will be asked a series of pre-screening questions. Based on your answers to these questions, you may be found ineligible to donate blood. For additional information on eligibility requirements, click here.
What can I expect?
The whole process takes less than an hour. Each donor will receive a short donor questionnaire with several basic health and lifestyle questions which will be reviewed in confidentiality with a staff member. Next, you will have a brief examination during which temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood count (hemoglobin or hematocrit) are measured. After your donation, which takes 5-10 minutes, you will be asked to sit and enjoy refreshments for 15 minutes at our canteen.
If I cannot donate blood, are there other ways that I can help?
Of course! We need volunteers to help find local sponsors to provide complimentary gifts to all CKI members that donate blood and to help with the sign-in or refreshments tables. If you are interested in helping in any way please contact the Coordinator.

Click on New Account Registration (lower right corner)
Fill out the short information form. You do not need a Donor ID, it will be filled after one business day. Be sure to create a password that is easy to remember.
Click on the SAVE button.
Click on Find a Donation Location
Enter 6704 for the Site Code; for the End Date, choose August 6, 2008 on the calendar.
Click on any of the drive information, login and then click Schedule Appointment.
Complete the Prescreening Questionnaire. Once you have answered all of the questions (and your eligibility has been verified), you will be taken to a list of appointment times and you can select the time you prefer.
You can choose to set up an appointment reminder via email or phone. Be sure to click Save to Confirm Appointment.
