The U.S. Centers for Disease Control recently issued guidance that individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 do not need to wear masks with limited exceptions, such as on public transportation. The Salt Palace Convention Center — the location of the 2021 CKI Education and Leadership Conference — and the conference hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, will not require masks or social distancing at their facilities for those who are fully vaccinated based on the new CDC guidance.
From the beginning of the pandemic, we have stated that we will follow CDC guidelines and all state and local laws and regulations. Consistent with this approach, Kiwanis International and Circle K International have updated the health protocols for the conference. Fully vaccinated individuals can attend the ELC in SLC without wearing masks or observing any social distancing requirements. Those who are not fully vaccinated must wear a mask and observe social distancing at indoor venues.
We will not be checking vaccination records but will rely on the honesty of attendees.
