CKI Next Up is engaging interactive leadership development for rising CKI leaders. Nominated participants will explore and learn how to apply leadership styles, personal values, self-advocacy, public speaking, grit and goal-setting in their CKI roles. The training helps participants better understand the Next Up concepts and apply lessons in real-world scenarios.

1-1:45 p.m. Fundraising Frenzy Room 402
Want to have fun and practice your fundraising skills? Want to meet your peers and practice collaborating? This workshop is the one for you! During this session, you will play a fundraising game. Your team will work together to plan a pretend fundraiser and compete to raise the most (pretend) money. The winning team earns a prize, so let the best fundraiser win!

1-1:45 p.m. Own the Stage: Confidence and Improv in Public Speaking Rooms 404-405
This workshop equips college students with essential skills for confident and adaptable communication. The first half explores the importance of public speaking, strategies for overcoming anxiety, and the power of presence. The latter half engages participants in a fun, interactive comedy-improv activity to build spontaneity and the ability to think on their feet. By the end of this session, you’ll have practical techniques to enhance your public speaking confidence and develop valuable improvisation skills, empowering you to engage any audience.

1-1:45 p.m. Leading with Impact: Building High-Powered Teams for Success Room 406
Success as a club or district leader depends on the strength of your team and how you run it. This interactive workshop led by CKI New Jersey District Immediate Past Governor Sanya Majmudar will provide key strategies to build a high-functioning, motivated team. Participants will explore practices in conflict resolution, delegation, communication and team motivation. Attendees will learn and develop their skills in leadership, collaboration and team building/management.

Ever wonder how a meeting is supposed to operate or how to conduct business in the CKI House of Delegates? Join us as we go over the basics of parliamentary procedure and allow you to practice the ins and outs of Robert’s Rules of Order. You will also learn more about the upcoming changes to CKI starting this October.

Elevate your facilitation skills! This workshop teaches CKI members and Kiwanians to design and deliver engaging learning experiences. You’ll learn to define objectives, structure content and effectively use interactive elements and technology in presentations, forums and other group settings. Gain practical skills and resources to create impactful events in your district and beyond.

Struggling to balance CKI, school and everything else? In just five minutes a day, you can regain control of your schedule — and your sanity. This workshop is based on Cal Newport’s time-blocking method from his book “How to Become a Straight-A Student” and teaches a simple, low-stress way to manage your tasks, reduce getting overwhelmed and get more done in less time. Whether you’re leading a club, planning a fundraiser or preparing for midterms, you’ll leave with a personalized strategy to stay organized, focused and ahead of the game — in just five minutes a day.

You’ll hear from the director of the Fred Rogers Institute, and from an engaging speaker who will teach you how to find joy in conflict through curiosity.

Feeling exhausted, unmotivated or overwhelmed? This workshop dives into burnout — how to recognize it, address it and understand who is responsible for preventing it. We’ll explore key statistics and practical solutions, and wrap up with a fun game of Burnout Bingo to help you reflect and recharge!

The growth of CKI is not just about recruitment and retention. It’s also about building Kiwanis family relationships. Join CKI Florida District Immediate Past Governor Jose Mendez for this interactive workshop revealing tips and tricks for receiving greater financial support and mentorship from Kiwanis as well as fostering more collaboration with K-Kids, Builders Club, Aktion Club, and Key Club.

A UNICEF USA representative will share how CKI members are empowering women and students in Cote d’Ivoire, a country halfway around the world, and impacting their lives, livelihoods and futures. We’ll then go over tangible ways in which CKI members can activate throughout the year to create even more change for kids around the world!

Recruitment and retention are the foundation of CKI, but where do you begin? This interactive workshop will walk through the five most important questions you must ask yourself to help recruit and retain members. With group activities, new recruitment ideas and plenty of discussion, you’ll leave with innovative strategies to help your club and district grow and thrive.

Presented by Active Minds, the nation’s leading nonprofit for youth and young adult mental health, this interactive session will help CKI leaders become mental health advocates on campus. You’ll learn how to take care of your own mental health as a student leader, have supportive conversations with peers and promote meaningful mental health initiatives in your community. Whether you’re organizing events, leading service projects or simply looking to strengthen your leadership with a focus on wellbeing, this session will show you how to make mental health a central part of your impact.
