Stepping onto a college or university campus for the first time can be nerve-wracking, but joining CKI is a great way to find your community, make lifelong friends, and get involved in meaningful service projects right from the start.  

As a CKI First-Year Ambassador, you will: 

  • Welcome and connect with other first-year students. 
  • Organize fun events and social activities. 
  • Help your club grow while developing your own leadership skills. 
  • Serve as a bridge between new students and the broader CKI community. 

In a competitive world, students are seeking opportunities to gain meaningful leadership experience. The First-Year Ambassador position will help you demonstrate your initiative, leadership skills, and commitment to community service — all qualities highly valued by employers and higher education programs. 

Tyler Rosado served as a first-year ambassador for his CKI club in 2023-24 at North Carolina State University, U.S. While Rosado planned to join CKI regardless, he says the first-year ambassador position “enabled me to keep CKI as a high-priority activity, since I was able to have that leadership opportunity within the club without having to go elsewhere.   

“This position helped me grow as a leader,” he adds, “primarily by helping me understand the culture, environment and values of our specific club. Not only does this aid me to continue leading CKI, but it also helps me find my place as a leader in other spaces.”  

After contributing to North Carolina State CKI’s 43.75% membership growth over the 2023-24 service year, Rosado assumed the role of club president for 2024-25.
