Martin Sheen
Endeared to audiences worldwide for his seven-year run as President Bartlet on NBC’s “The West Wing”, as well as his recent role on Netflix’s “Grace & Frankie”, Martin Sheen uses his dynamic presence and celebrity status to lend a voice to peace and social justice issues. Sheen is a special envoy to Front Line International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders. A fervent promoter of the principles of Catholic social thought in word and in action, his passion for activism and its necessary place in today’s humanitarian and social arenas has inspired generations. For over four decades, he has been an ardent supporter of causes that advocate peace and encourage justice throughout the world. |
Learn MoreBorn Ramon Estevez to immigrant parents, Sheen left his home in Dayton, Ohio, U.S., for the bright lights of New York City. In the 70’s Sheen embarked on a series of critically acclaimed projects. He earned an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of the deserter in “The Execution of Private Slovik.” In 1979, Sheen’s turn as a military assassin sent to terminate the command of a crazed Marlon Brando in Francis Ford Coppola’s “Apocalypse Now” remains one of his signature roles. Despite the time devoted to social justice, his output of film and TV roles has never slowed. He donated his salary for his work on “Gandhi “(1982) to various charities and he portrayed a union official father at odds with the insider trading world of his financier son (Charlie) in Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street” (1987). He has played over 100 roles, including such films as “Badlands,” “Catch Me If You Can,” “The Departed,” “Bobby” and “The Way” a film written and directed by his son, Emilio Estevez. Their published father/son memoir “Along the” Way was released in May 2012. Martin and his wife, Janet, have been married for over 60 years, and they have four children: Emilio, Ramon, Renee and Charlie. |

Scott Bearby
Scott Bearby serves as senior vice president and general counsel for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). He has been a lawyer for the NCAA for 26 years. As general counsel, Bearby manages the NCAA Office of Legal Affairs and its staff. He also oversees the NCAA Hearing Operations function. Since 1999, Bearby has been lead inside counsel for all of the NCAA’s television, digital and other multi-media agreements for the Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships and other NCAA championships. |
Learn MoreIn 2023, Bearby was appointed as an arbitrator within the Court of Arbitration of Sport, the international and Olympic sport dispute resolution organization. Bearby has been an adjunct faculty member at both Indiana University McKinney School of Law and Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He is a member of the Indiana Sports Corporation Executive Committee and Board. Bearby graduated from the University of Notre Dame and received his J.D. from the Indiana University Bloomington Maurer School of Law. Bearby has been a member of Kiwanis since 1992. Prior to moving to Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S., in 1999, he served as a club president and lieutenant governor of the Indiana District. He also served as a district administrator with Circle K International and has been both a Key Club and CKI club advisor. Bearby was elected Key Club International trustee in 1983 and served as vice president until 1984. In CKI, Bearby served as international secretary and international president. |
