Hi, my name is Tatum Vondra, and I have been an active member of the Kiwanis Family since fifth grade, where I began my journey through K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club and now CKI. In Key Club International, I served on the board for three years as a lieutenant governor, secretary, and district governor. I have continued being just as involved in CKI by serving as club president, lieutenant governor, and district governor. I was just elected for my second term as district governor, and I am excited to continue this journey within CKI. I love meeting new people, being a leader and serving my community!

What are you most looking forward to about your year as governor?

I am excited to invest more of my time into being governor. This year, I am fully equipped for a second term and I look forward to giving this position my all. I want to strengthen clubs within my district, establish a more functional district board and be more present and accessible. I’m also so excited to begin doing things in person, finally!

Favorite CKI Memory

My favorite CKI memory was definitely Fall Day of Service in 2019. This was one of my first experiences with CKI. We partnered with Habitat for Humanity during the morning, and then we went to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha for the remainder of the afternoon. It was a blast!

Favorite Service Project

This past semester, my club completed a WASH 5K. Members could register in teams of six and we completed a 5K walk around campus where each team was responsible for carrying a 5-gallon bucket of rocks which weighed approximately 40 pounds. This is the average distance and weight that a woman in a third-world country carries each day to get access to clean drinking water, so it was a very eye-opening experience. We raised $700 through the event and it was truly such a fun time. I look forward to hosting the second annual WASH 5K this upcoming fall!
