In 3-5 sentences, tell us about yourself:

Hello! My name is Ryan Tan, and I currently am a third-year student studying psychology with a minor in marketing at Cal State Fullerton. After university, I hope that I can become a marriage and family therapist. In my free time, I enjoy binge-watching anime, crying to K-dramas, jamming out to K-pop and taking long naps. I love to challenge my creativity by working on graphic design, drawing and creating memes. All in all, I love to serve my community, one service project at a time!

What are you most looking forward to about your year as governor?

I am looking forward to meeting more amazing friends in the California-Nevada-Hawaii District.

Favorite CKI memory:

My favorite CKI memory would probably be the 2018 Presidents’ Retreat. It was when I got to meet a lot of my current close friends, along with it being an amazing weekend to get to know our positions, meet new people and have fun. Not having running water just really bonds people, you know? This was such an amazing event that I always look forward to it every single year!

Favorite service project:

My favorite service project would have to be Go West, a three-day, two-night event hosted by the Pasadena City College CKI club. where over 100 volunteers decorate the Rose Parade floats. Although I have an allergy to pollen, it’s worth the sneezing and difficulty breathing because of the magnitude and gravity of this service project.
